Money is a powerful thing. It can drive men mad. Provide impetus for murder of children, elderly, cancer patients, and kittens. Money is a terrible thing to have. It is a fast track to superficial pomposity and other crimes of the upper class. But shit like that is never always true. A billion dollars is a lot of money but it’s not enough to solve the world’s problems. It can’t stop poverty for more than a week. It can’t stop natural disasters. It’s very difficult to bribe a nation into losing a war. You can’t stop crime. You can’t stop unemployment. What the hell can money do that is beneficial to mankind? We don’t have infinite wealth. A billion isn’t much. A hundred billion isn’t much. Thirteen trillion (America’s GDP), obviously still isn’t enough to bring about prosperity to all of the only 300 million citizens of America.

So what the fuck am I going to do with A billion measly dollars?

Being a capitalistic society driven by supply and demand and all there is only one responsibility for the economic citizen: spend.

In case your parents still have a job with a inflation adjusted salary greater than what it was 2 years ago, you should know we are in a very shitty period of economic shittiness. To solve the problem, last fiscal year the IRS sent everyone $600 + $300/child. There was only one instruction: Spend it and stimulate the economy. If you’ve taken an economics class you’ll know that in a capitalistic society materialism and spending too much money is the healthiest perscription for the economy.

Here’s the good news: It doesn’t matter if John and Bob each spend $600, or Chip alone spends $1200. The net economic benefit is the same.

The logical conclusion is that I should spend all 1 million dollars buying diamonds, iPods, laptops, Maserati’s, and a couple hundred big screen TVs. They have to be American made of course. The billion dollars I spend will be put into the pockets of Americans working to make those products.

The 2nd thing that would help the economy greatly is to spur entrepreneurship. Start a grant system in which entrepreneurs can pitch their idea and get a initial capital to begin their business. Imagine if Bill Gates never had enough money to start Microsoft and instead worked at Home Depot to pay for his apartment. We’d still be typing in a terminal with no graphics. There are plenty of people out there with great ideas that will benefit man kind but don’t have enough funding. A billion dollars can do that.

It is an unfortunate fact that there is no way to directly help people with a billion dollars. If I gave every working class family in America $500, it wouldn’t do shit because they would spend it and thats that. The focus must be on long term investments. Even spending money buying shit will spur innovation in respective companies. Simply there is no possibly way to end any disease, disaster etc. simply by giving money directly.

I watched this video clip that reminded me of the movie Memento.

In case you haven’t seen it, Memento is about a guy who cannot create a new memories, so every 20 minutes or so he forgets all thats happened since the accident that caused his memory loss.
Of course that is no disability when you’re pissed `cause the last thing that happened to you before the accident is the murder of your wife.

Hunt that assclown down right? So the very killer of his wife pretends to be his friend and, of course, manipulates his memory loss for his own benefit. So the main character tattoos himself with notes as to who to trust, and the developments he’d made.

I say that for two reasons, First off, watch Memento, it’s much more psychological than I could possibly describe

Second, I’m considering tattooing, WOMAN. DO NOT TRUST. Across my chest.

Thanks for super party guys. It was much enjoyed.
You guys really went above and beyond with that cake, and the pink calculator. Insane, too pro. I am undeserving.
I owe all of you guys.

I can’t help but think. I have recieved so much. I have the best friends. I all the stuff I want. I have a nice home. I have a everything I could want. It is in these conditions that I move forth in the whole college admissions process.

It is not fair. There are plenty of people who don’t have what we do. Who have problems way beyond testing and grades and books. People who are dealing with real life problems now. For the most part we are unafflicted. We are caged little chicks being incubated into big robotic parentspleasers while many young have to fend for themselves in the rough. If we need to take the SAT again our parents gladly open their check books. If we need a review book or a thousand dollar review class our parents jump to enter their pin numbers.

What the hell did we do to deserve this? Many don’t have the same opportunity, our parents didn’t have the same opportunity.
The most glorious is not the cradled ruby that got into Harvard but the neglected quartz that fought against everything to get into CCC.

Who are we to view any college as inferior. We don’t see it in our lives, but just like the politicians and people on TV we despise, we are born with a silver spoon up our ass and ear and nose a eye and other holes too.

Take this example: many of us tried to get jobs this summer. How many of us only got work because we were hooked up? Wayne didn’t… how much is he making? $5/hr? Now what if there were racial profiling involved? What if we weren’t in high school, would we still get all of those sassy internships and what not?

I’m not trying to say the real life is hard. Everyone knows that. I’m saying that we are too well off and will be poorly adapt to shitty conditions in the future.

So enjoy the catered books, shelters, and conditions that you have now. Don’t squander it on YouTube because sonner than later we will be screwed.

Anyways I’ve always thought that, at least in high school class selection, there is no point in picking things you’re actually interested in because you can beast through anyclass anyhow. Although this is still true for community college classes (JK, no devils advocate for me plix), maybe some caution should be excercised.

But other than that, much like last year, 5555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555555
